Grasshopper Science 5/22

Spring is a great time for learning about life cycles! This week, Grashopper Class looked at the life cycle of the ladybug. First, the female ladybug lays eggs on a leaf. Next, the eggs hatch. From each egg comes a larva. The larva eats and eats for several days. Then, it attaches itself to the tree and curls up. This is called the pupa stage. After about a week, an adult ladybug pushes itself out. The ladybug will live for a few months. Then the life cycle will start again.

Learning about the ladybug's life cycle has been extra fun, because we've been able to see real ladybug eggs, larvae, pupae, and adult ladybugs on the trees at the park!
